This lime is grown mostly for its edible fruit and leaves, which are used in cuisine across its native habitats in the Mediterranean, South America and Asia. The leaves are also used medicinally in Asia. This tree makes a great hedging tree as it roots quickly and can be pruned to shape.
Care
The tree requires a well-drained soil with regularly watering. Growth can be stunted in temperatures above 38°c, so care should be taken in planting this tree in Kuwait. Drought tolerant, but will not thrive unaided if left unwatered for more than three months.
