Aptenia cordifolia is a succulent perennial and member of the Fig-marigold family Aizoaceae along with mid-day flowers and baby toes succulent. The Aptenia cordifolia plant hails from South Africa in the rainfall regions and the coastal areas in the Eastern Cape of Africa.
In most climates, Aptenia cordifolia is a drought-tolerant plant that requires no supplemental irrigation. However, in desert climates with hot, dry summers, Aptenia cordifolia benefits from an occasional watering. Water the plant deeply when the soil is completely dry, then allow the soil to dry before watering again.
